Horizon had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They took down the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors 20-6.

The critical scores for Horizon came from Madison Velotta, Shea Padilla, and Emmerson Ingraham.

Horizon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Velotta.

Horizon's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Horizon will take on rival Poudre School District at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hawks 14.3, the Stars 5.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Eagle Ridge Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Aurora Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
