Soccer Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss

Wharton lost against Bay City back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wharton Tigers came up short against the Bay City Blackcats, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 821st, while the Blackcats are ranked 224th).

Wharton has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. Bay City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That lines up perfectly with their 17-0 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Wharton challenge Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bay City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Palacios at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bay City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5 goals per game this season.
