Football Recap: Franklin Starts Season with Victory Against Garfield

Franklin had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Garfield Bulldogs by a score of 19-12 on Monday.

Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Arianna Jimenez and Melanie Martinez. Martinez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will venture away from home to square off against Bell at 3:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Garfield, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Wilson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Mules have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
