Recap: Flippin Bobcats vs. Harrisburg Hornets
The Flippin Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Harrisburg on Saturday as Flippin made off with a 55-29 win. Given Flippin's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Harrisburg is ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Harrisburg's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jakobe Tate, who scored 11 points, and Jayvin Thompson who scored four points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Thompson grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Walker Casebier, who scored six points.
Flippin has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Harrisburg, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Flippin will take on Elkins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkins will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Harrisburg will take on Valley View in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at. Valley View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Harrisburg likes a good challenge.
