Soccer Recap: Greenville Takes a Loss

Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Sherman Bearcats, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 609th, while the Bearcats are ranked 253rd).

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 0-10-1. As for Sherman, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-1-1 and their overall record up to 7-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville has already played their next match (against Anna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Sherman challenge the Walnut Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Sherman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.
