Softball Recap: Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers vs. Tyrone Golden Eagles
Hollidaysburg lost against Tyrone last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tyrone Golden Eagles.
Sydney Shay and Sophia Morris did some serious damage despite the final result: Shay got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a double and an RBI, while Morris scored three runs while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallee Chandler, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Hollidaysburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Tyrone, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Hollidaysburg will head out on the road to face off against Huntingdon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tyrone, they will play host again on Thursday to welcome Philipsburg-Osceola, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:30 p.m.
