Brookstone snaps four-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Brookstone Cougars vs. Heritage Hawks

After a string of four wins, the Brookstone Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 60-39 loss at the hands of Heritage. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brookstone has scored all season.

Brookstone's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chapman Dykes, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Henderson, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Robert bolinger, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Max Skidmore, who scored 18 points.

Brookstone's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. As for Heritage, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home.

Brookstone on the road again on Saturday and play against St. Mary's Academy at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against St. Anne-Pacelli at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (St. Anne-Pacelli is ranked 46th, while Heritage is ranked 24th).
