Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Christopher Cougars
With a playoff game on the line, the Soquel Knights rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 28-0 victory over the Cougars. The victory was familiar territory for Soquel who now have eight in a row.
Soquel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Mccord led the charge by rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown. Mccord was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Braylon Noble was another key contributor, rushing for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Soquel's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Justice Grauel tebong and Cade Petersen who racked up four sacks between them.
Soquel has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-2 record. As for Christopher, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.
Soquel has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Casa Roble at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Casa Roble: 13.1, Soquel: 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Christopher does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
