Palmer Trinity waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Mater Bay Academy Rays as they made off with a 14-3 win. Considering the Falcons have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Luis Acosta looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joshua Martinez was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Lorenzo Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Palmer Trinity hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mater Bay Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Palmer Trinity and Mater Bay Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Falcons will take on Westminster Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Palmer Trinity surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mater Bay Academy, they will face off against Somerset Academy South Homestead at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rays are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
