Basketball Recap: Mountain Range Falls Despite Big Games from Delilah Lucero and Camila Jimenez

Mountain Range came into this matchup off a tough 81-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Westminster Wolves by a score of 45-42 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since January 18, 2024.

Mountain Range's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Camila Jimenez, who posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals, and Delilah Lucero, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. That's the most steals Jimenez has posted since back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westminster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naomi Saldana, who scored 22 points and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Saldana has scored at least a third of Westminster's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Talmich-Martinez, who earned nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Mountain Range has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. Westminster has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Mountain Range nor Westminster have any future games scheduled.
