Basketball Game Preview: Sitka Wolves vs. Valdez Buccaneers

Having just played yesterday, the Sitka Wolves will jump right back in to play the Valdez Buccaneers at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Sitka heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Wednesday. They were dealt a 60-29 loss at the hands of Grace Christian. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Valdez was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 43-39 to Kenai Central. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Kardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Valdez's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Sitka, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.

Things could have been worse for Sitka, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Valdez in their previous meeting back in January. Can Sitka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
