Football Recap: Waitsburg Skates Past Tekoa-Rosalia with Ease

The matchup between Waitsburg and Tekoa-Rosalia on Friday hardly resembled the 14-6 effort from their previous meeting. The Cardinals took their contest with ease, bagging a 58-30 win over the Timberwolves. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jayton Gleason was his usual excellent self, rushing for 171 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 165 yards and three touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Uriah York was Gleason's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Waitsburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 267 rushing yards in three consecutive games.

Waitsburg's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Tekoa-Rosalia, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.
