Baseball Game Preview: Brookline Warriors vs. Natick Redhawks

The Brookline Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Natick Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Things were looking good for Brookline after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Braintree by a score of 10-9.

Nikolai Rabiner was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Brookline saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hugh Bolinger, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Felix Ham was another, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Natick entered their tilt with Needham on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Rockets. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Brookline has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Natick, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Brookline couldn't quite finish off Natick when the teams last played back in April and fell 9-7. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
