Basketball Recap: Coy Doyle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnson City over Mason

Johnson City lost against Mason back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Johnson City Eagles came up short against the Mason Punchers, falling 48-25. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Johnson City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Coy Doyle, who posted six points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Jenkins, who had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Johnson City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Johnson City dropped their record down to 9-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mason, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-15.

Johnson City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-30 defeat against Goldthwaite on the 4th. Mason has also already played their next matchup (against Center Point), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
