Troy and Wyalusing Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Trojans will head out to take on the Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Troy put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Williamson an 18-0 shutout. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.

Brendan Gilliland made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Troy is undefeated when Gilliland posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-4-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reed Palmer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Troy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wyalusing Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sayre with a sharp 13-3 win on Monday. The Rams not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2025 (when they won 17-7).
Wyalusing Valley got a massive performance out of Griffin Sheldon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Mhadden Hugo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Troy and bumps their season record up to 6-4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Wyalusing Valley, their record now sits at 3-7.
Wyalusing Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Troy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Wyalusing Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Troy keep running through batters, or will the Rams buck the trend?
Everything went Troy's way against Wyalusing Valley in their previous meeting back in March, as Troy made off with a 16-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
