Soccer Recap: Sharpsville Comes Up Short

Sharpsville lost against Wilmington back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Sharpsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while Wilmington are ranked 198th).

Sharpsville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-8-2. As for Wilmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sharpsville will take on rival Kennedy Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wilmington is set to square off against their familiar foe Mercer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
