Basketball Recap: Gervais Takes a Loss

Gervais was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Salem Academy Crusaders, falling 76-36. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Crusaders are ranked 76th).

Gervais' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Salem Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gervais will challenge Regis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Regis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Salem Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Delphian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Salem Academy is facing Delphian at the right time seeing as Delphian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
