Volleyball Recap: Central Heights' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Central Heights was the 2-1 winner over Uniontown when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Central Heights sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 26-24.

Despite the defeat, Central Heights saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophee Lankard had ten digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Lankard.

Central Heights' loss ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 10-15. As for Uniontown, they pushed their record up to 10-16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coincidentally, Central Heights and Uniontown will both be playing Southern Coffey County the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Titans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
