Baseball Recap: Rosman Takes a Loss

Rosman had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-13 to make it four. They lost 22-2 to the Madison Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in March.

As for Madison, they moved to 8-11 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Madison's part, Max Shelton was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs Shelton has posted since back in March. Jaxon Dillingham also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rosman will venture away from home to challenge Owen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhorses have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.81 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Madison, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mitchell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
