Volleyball Recap: Sutherland Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Sutherland posted their closest victory since September 13th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out South Loup 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Sailors as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Sutherland who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-14.

Kate Dyer paced Sutherland's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dyer got some help from Drew Rotert and her 26 assists. Dyer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Sutherland's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for South Loup, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Sutherland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Garden County on the 30th. As for South Loup, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Ansley/Litchfield on the 30th.
