Softball Recap: Waldron Bulldogs vs. Pottsville Apaches
Waldron had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-12 to make it nine. They lost 16-0 to the Pottsville Apaches. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.
As for Pottsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games.
For Pottsville's part, Savanna Mackey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Mackey has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
