Softball Recap: Barberton Comes Up Short

Barberton lost against Highland back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Magics fell 7-4 to the Hornets. The Magics just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Eliana Garrard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Maia Taylor, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

Barberton's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Highland, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-10.

Coming up, Barberton will head out to square off against Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.2 runs per game on average), something the Magics will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Highland, they will square off against Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Greenmen will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
