Volleyball Recap: Archbishop Alter Comes Up Short

Archbishop Alter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on September 2nd.

Archbishop Alter was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Chaminade Julienne Catholic work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Archbishop Alter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Maya Regalla had 11 digs and two aces. Regalla has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Archbishop Alter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-7 record.

Archbishop Alter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Minster on the 20th. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, they will face off against Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
