Softball Recap: Valley Christian Gets the Win

Valley Christian won the last time they faced Heritage Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Defenders came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 13-9.

The team relied heavily on Choyce Chambers, who scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Aubrielle Ramirez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Chambers wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Valley Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Heritage Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2.

Valley Christian and Heritage Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Defenders (ranked 141st) will meet Village Christian (ranked 484th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Heritage Christian will challenge Maranatha at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (136 vs. 1032).
