Basketball Recap: Jackson Takes a Loss

Jackson suffered their closest defeat since November 22, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hampton Hornets by a score of 39-37. The Red Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, don't look at Sophie Logan. Despite the final result, she posted nine points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. That's the most steals Logan has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ariyah Burke, who had nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Jackson will venture away from home to challenge Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for Hampton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ola at 6:00 p.m. Hampton is facing Ola at the right time seeing as Ola is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
