Baseball Game Preview: St. Dominic Saints vs. Mount Abram Roadrunners

The St. Dominic Saints will venture away from home to take on the Mount Abram Roadrunners at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Dominic lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Waynflete, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Saints put the hurt on the Flyers with a sharp 7-1 win on Monday. The Saints not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since June 15, 2024 (when they won 9-1).

Meanwhile, Mount Abram posted their closest victory since June 5, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Old Orchard Beach 14-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roadrunners.

The team relied heavily on Ash Rollins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Wilcox, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Mount Abram's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for St. Dominic, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

St. Dominic came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Abram in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
