Basketball Recap: Maxwell Maurer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Loramie over Franklin Monroe

Fort Loramie and Franklin Monroe squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fort Loramie had to settle for second. They fell to the Franklin Monroe Jets 38-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 63-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Fort Loramie's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maxwell Maurer, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Barhorst, who put up eight points.

Fort Loramie's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Franklin Monroe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Fort Loramie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Monroe, they will challenge Botkins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Botkins sitting on three straight victories and Franklin Monroe on six.
