Soccer Recap: Archbishop Ryan Comes Up Short

After flying high against Neumann-Goretti on Saturday, Archbishop Ryan came back down to earth. The Raiders and Ragdolls fell just short of the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Archbishop Ryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while St. Joseph's Prep are ranked 47th).

Archbishop Ryan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1. As for St. Joseph's Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-0-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Archbishop Ryan will face off against rival Roman Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Prep is set to challenge their familiar foe Archbishop Carroll at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
