Baseball Recap: Woodside Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Woodside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Mills Vikings 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trent Amoroso spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Woodside is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Woodside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win got Woodside back to even at 4-4. As for Mills, their record now sits at 2-6.

Woodside will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mills: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
