Baseball Recap: Fremont Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Fremont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Layton Lancers on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Silverwolves also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Chase Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Cole Sanders was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Fremont pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Layton, they moved to 10-12 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Fremont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
