Soccer Game Preview: Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South vs. Sandburg

The Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South Meteors will square off against the Sandburg Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South managed to keep up with Lemont until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Meteors came up short against the Lemont HS, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Lemont are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, Sandburg's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Homewood-Flossmoor by a score of 2-1.

Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Sandburg, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
