Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Area Beats Pleasant Valley for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Nazareth Area entered their tilt with Pleasant Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bears.

Nazareth Area was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (98-96), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 15-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-12.

Nazareth Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mallory Garland, who had 18 digs and two aces. Garland is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorelai Castagna, who had 33 assists and nine digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Nazareth Area was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matchups.

Nazareth Area now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Pleasant Valley, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-13-3.
