Basketball Game Preview: McFarland Cougars vs. Wasco Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the McFarland Cougars duke it out with the Wasco Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McFarland has ten straight victories, Wasco has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, McFarland humbled Delano with an 82-47 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 34 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wasco was beaten by Shafter 57-23 on Thursday.

McFarland is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Wasco, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Everything came up roses for McFarland against Wasco when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 83-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for McFarland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
