Baseball Recap: 19 Straight Home Wins for Canyon Del Oro

Canyon del Oro came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Sahuaro Cougars get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Dorados, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Carson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Zane Moffitt looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Canyon del Oro got a massive performance out of Tarrell Reid, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Reid has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Maximus Hendrix, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Canyon del Oro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sahuaro only posted an OBP of .286.
