Baseball Recap: Gila Ridge Has No Trouble Against Valley Vista

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lake Havasu, Gila Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Valley Vista Monsoon 13-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hawks needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Raul Vega looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Gila Ridge got a big performance out of Derrick Parsons, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Parsons a new career-high in RBI (three). Truett Jaca was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

The victory got Gila Ridge back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Gila Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Paradise Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley Vista, they will take on Mesa at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mesa will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
