Volleyball Game Preview: Silver Creek Dragons vs. Columbus East Olympians

The Silver Creek Dragons will take on the Columbus East Olympians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Silver Creek came up short against Floyd Central and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost five in a row.

Silver Creek started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Columbus East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to New Albany.

While Columbus East was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-11, 25-23.

Columbus East's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Silver Creek took their victory against Columbus East in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Olympians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
