Heritage Academy Gateway's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Canyon State Academy Rams. The Heroes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Braden Whittman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Nolen Holliday was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Maxwell Withers was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Heritage Academy Gateway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .594. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Heritage Academy Gateway back to even at 2-2. As for Canyon State Academy, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Heritage Academy Gateway will head out to take on Maricopa Institute of Technology at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon State Academy, they will welcome Imagine Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
