Softball Recap: Azle Triumphs

Azle lost to Granbury back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Hornets walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Pirates. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Fallon Inglet made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Inglet was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Haley Carlson and Bella Tipton did most of the damage at the plate: Carlson scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Tipton went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those four hits gave Carlson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Daniels, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Azle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Azle's record is now 8-11-2. As for Granbury, they dropped their record down to 5-12-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Azle and Granbury will both be playing Brewer the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Hornets will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
