Football Recap: Baldwin Comes Up Short

Baldwin lost against Upper St. Clair back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Highlanders had to suffer through a 56-8 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Panthers are ranked ninth).

Ethan Hellmann was his usual excellent self, throwing for 182 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 32 yards and one TD for Upper St. Clair. Hellmann's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Baldwin's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Upper St. Clair, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

As of now, neither Baldwin nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
