Basketball Recap: Republic Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

On Saturday, the Republic Tigers strolled past the Howell Central Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Spartans are ranked 18th).

Republic is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Howell Central, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Republic will venture away from home to square off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Howell Central, they will square off against Washington at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
