Tift County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Ware County Gators 2-1 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Blue Devils' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Tift County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Coincidentally, Tift County and Ware County will both be playing Southeast Bulloch the next time they take the court. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Yellow Jackets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Gators will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
