Softball Recap: Luxemburg-Casco's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Luxemburg-Casco waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Waupaca Comets. Considering the Spartans have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Luxemburg-Casco's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Waupaca, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Luxemburg-Casco will square off against Sevastopol at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waupaca, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Marathon on the 17th.
