Volleyball Recap: Barrington Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Hendricken, Barrington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Providence Townies, sneaking past 3-2. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Townies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-107) Barrington actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-30, 14-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-8.

Josh Shanty went supernova, getting 21 digs and two aces. Those 21 digs gave him a new career-high.

Barrington's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2. As for East Providence, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Barrington will square off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Providence, they will challenge Westerly at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
