            Softball Preview: Port Byron Panthers vs. Bishop Ludden Gaelic Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Port Byron is  a perfect 5-0 against Bishop Ludden since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will host the Gaelic Knights  at 4:30  p.m. Port Byron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4  runs per game  this season.
Port Byron's pitching crew heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They came out on top against Weedsport by a score of  4-0. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Panthers.

Weedsport's batters probably weren't too happy with  Jenna Jump, who pitched a no hitter  and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up two walks). Those 14  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  Jump.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Cameryn Brundage, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season. Another player making a difference was  Mallory Mills, who  went 1-for-2 with four  stolen bases and one  run.
 Meanwhile, Bishop Ludden was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They lost  19-4 to Cato-Meridian.
 Bishop Ludden's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Port Byron, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
 Port Byron took their  victory against Bishop Ludden  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  24-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success,  or do  the Gaelic Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
