Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Christian). Everything went their way against the Faith Baptist Contenders on Thursday as they made off with  a  16-5 victory. The Knights not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since March 5, 2024 (when they won  12-1).
 Andrew Silva made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Silva was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  home run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news, Desert Christian got a  massive  performance out of  Seth Zeko, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  four  hits gave  Zeko a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Logan Mount, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Desert Christian  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post 11 or more  hits.
The  win made it two in a row for Desert Christian and  bumps their season record up to 5-6-2. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Faith Baptist, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the  loss, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Christian will square off against Valley Torah at 1:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Wolfpack have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten  runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Faith Baptist, they will take on Vasquez at 3:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their  sixth straight  win, something the Contenders surely won't give up without a fight.
