Basketball Game Preview: West Greene Pioneers vs. Jefferson-Morgan Rockets

West Greene and Jefferson-Morgan are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The West Greene Pioneers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets at 7:00 p.m. West Greene is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.

West Greene is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Chartiers-Houston just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 49-40 to the Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 218th).

Despite their loss, West Greene saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lane Allison, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. Matthew Wassil was another key player, putting up five points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Jefferson-Morgan was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Mapletown 62-13. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 22 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Jefferson-Morgan and bumps their season record up to 12-5. As for West Greene, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
