Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hanahan

Hanahan extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 4-5. They blew past the Cane Bay Cobras 25-13. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

As for Cane Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Cobras fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Hanahan since Wednesday.

For Cane Bay's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marleigh Robertson, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Robertson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Loanys Aviles also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Hanahan will head out to challenge Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cane Bay, they will be playing at home against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
