Basketball Recap: Decatur Central Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Decatur Central and Mooresville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Decatur Central had to settle for second. They came up short against the Mooresville Pioneers, falling 80-55. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by exactly 25 points.

Randee Garringer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mooresville, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 13 boards. Those 34 points gave Garringer a new career-high. Ava Shafer was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Decatur Central has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Mooresville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Decatur Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mooresville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Franklin Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
