The Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions will venture away from home to face off against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. St. Thomas Aquinas took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), who comes in off a win.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Miami Christian by a score of 15-10 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Stallions considering their two-run performance the game before.

Katelyn Champion and Leilani Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Champion scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4, while Gonzalez scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Champion a new career-high in hits. Zoe Mateo also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miami Christian only posted a batting average of .367.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas didn't have quite enough to beat Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday and fell 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by just one run.

Lavinia Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Victoria Brunette and Sara Wrzosek did some serious damage despite the final result: Brunette scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Wrzosek went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Summer Givens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Thomas Aquinas and nudges their season record down to 1-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
