Volleyball Recap: Sam Houston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sam Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Martin Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13, 25-11.

Samera Burton paced Sam Houston's offense, picking up three kills. Burton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with five. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Martin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Foley, who had seven digs and three aces.

Sam Houston's loss dropped their record down to 5-26-1. As for Martin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sam Houston will square off against rival Haltom at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Martin is set to take on their familiar foe Arlington at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
